Conference on Advances in Computational Mathematics began at DU

An international conference titled "Advances in Computational Mathematics" began at A F Mujibur Rahman Ganit Bhaban auditorium of Dhaka University on 28 May2017, says a DU Press release.

Department of Mathematics, Dhaka University and South Asian University, New Delhi, jointly organized the conference.

Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the conference.

Secretary of the Conference Organizing Committee Dr Samir Kumar Bhowmik delivered welcome address while Associate Professor of DU Mathematics Department Dr Chandra Nath Podder conducted the function.

Addressing the inaugural function, Professor Arefin Siddique stressed the need for improving mathematics education from the primary level of education. 

"Although mathematics is the foundation of science - but it acts as a tree of all knowledge," he added.  Renowned mathematicians from Bangladesh and India have joined the conference, the release added.
